Mind blowing snacks like paniharam, dosa, idillis, vadas, puttu/kadala, sweet kozhakatta, etc. etc. Yday my cousin Suresh, his wife Rama and self went to eat there. One of the best eating joints in Coimbatore. Don't miss this place. Prior to taking these photographs we took the permission from Mr. Balaji Jagadesan. Thanks Balaji. Now we are friends in FB. EATING OUT 2:  Tiffin House, T.Venkataswamy Road (West), R.S.Puram, Coimbatore (Reference my cousin Suresh).

This is a small and decent eating joint near the main signal of R.S. Puram. I visited this place today morning. They make all south indian breakfast like idlli, all types of dosa, uttapam, poori bhaji, appam and their speciality is butter appam. Even though I had my breakfast at home, I decided to try butter appam. It is fantastic. It costs Rs.45 for a single butter appam. These items are available in the morning and in the evening they have seva, adaii, vada, dosas, etc. This is run by a person called Bhupathy and managed by one Babu. He was kind enough to allow me to take some photos. Whenever you visit Coimbatore, please do not miss this joint.

EATING OUT 1:  R.S. Puram Post Office Canteen

Post Office at R.S.Puram, Coimbatore is one of the major landmarks. This is situated at the junction of D.B. Road signal. Within the compound of post office, there is a very nice eating joint. There are no furniture but one needs stand and eat. I have been seeing this joint for quite sometime. Today morning I had a visit to this joint to see what is happening. There were around 20 to 25 people eating different items. They make all type of dosas, poori bhaji, vada, bonda, coffe/tea, etc.. I too ordered a dosa. Speciality is that chattani, sambar, etc. are kept and one needs to take the required quantity - self service. I had earlier posted one photo of this joint in FB. I too met several others who were eating there . All of them said that "Food is excellent here". Photo of the kitchen is attached. When I took the photo, they were making "Bonda" which you can see in the picture.

AMBRESHWAR SHIVA TEMPLE, AMBERNATH, MAHARASHTRA

AMBRESHWAR SHIVA TEMPLE, AMBERNATH, MAHARASHTRA

Today morning I had visited Ambreshwar Shiva Temple as recommended by my friend Uday Bhobe. Thanks Uday.

Ambreshwar Shiva Temple is situated 2 km from Ambernath (East) railway station. It is said that shilahara king Chittaraja constructed this temple but his son Mummuni rebuilt. Based on the discussion I had with locals, it is said that this temple was built by five Pandava brothers in just one night in a huge single mass of stone. However, there is no official record to support this.

In order to see the Lord, one needs to go down 20 steps inside the temple called Gabhara, and there is one shivling at the center of the room. Festivals celebrated are Mahashivaratri and Shraavana. Pooja like Rudra Abhishek can be performed on the temple premises. The temple is 1000 years old. I also understand Central Government is planning to take over this temple from the locals who are currently managing this temple.

In order to reach this temple, autos are available from the railway station. Cost per auto is Rs.30/- and shared auto cost Rs.10/- per passenger.

The skills of architecture can be seen from the attached photos.
